Maurice Bonham-Carter founded ID Travel Group with a clear vision: to elevate luxury travel through purpose-driven partnerships, expert curation, and a deep respect for the travel advisor community. A former Caribbean hotelier with two decades of experience, Maurice transitioned from running luxury resorts to building one of the industry’s most respected marketing and sales organizations. 

Under his leadership, ID Travel Group has become a global connector—matching the world’s finest five-star resorts with top luxury travel advisors. Maurice’s philosophy is rooted in authenticity, excellence, and long-term impact. His belief in destination potential has helped transform places like Turks & Caicos, where he once visited Grace Bay Club when most roads were still unpaved. Today, it’s a flagship destination for ID and a symbol of what visionary belief can achieve. 

Maurice’s commitment extends beyond business. As founder of The ID Travel Group Foundation for Better Living, he champions education and opportunity. The foundation’s flagship initiative—a graduate scholarship at Oxford University for Caribbean (and beyond) students in social sciences—reflects his passion for developing future leaders who can return home and create meaningful change. 

With global expansion well underway—including the merger of CARIBTOURS in the UK and the acquisition of Island Escapes in Australia—Maurice continues to guide the company’s bold growth. “We’re singing the third verse of our song,” he says, “and already writing the fourth.” 

Maurice lives in Larchmont, New York, with his wife, Jenifer. He is a proud grandfather of six, and enjoys sailing, skiing, playing the piano, and sharing a good glass of Chardonnay—especially with his extended Caribbean family, which has shaped both his business and his life’s work.
